Play Texas Hold'em Poker

How did it all start?

I went on holiday with some friends and on a wet day my husband and I were taught to play. It was really quite confusing at first and it sounded like our friends were making up the Texas Hold'em rules as they went along! I had never heard such terminology as 'The Flop', 'Big Blind', 'Little Blind' and 'The River'. I had a rough idea what the possible hands were but certainly not the order.

Now I am not really a gambler and I don't recommend any one gambles just on the basis to make some quick money. I was just fascinated by the strategies in Texas Hold'em Poker.

I have played at on-line casinos (such as www.betfair.com) but only on the poker fun tables as it is a good place to learn and have fun without losing your hard earned cash. For the first few times I logged on I would just watch 'the action' without playing. The more that I watched the easier it became to understand the players and a bit about their own strategy.

I might be very sad but I still get a buzz out of winning a hand even though I have only won the fun money!

In this blog I will write about the stuff that I have read and the stuff the I have learnt about Texas Hold'em poker. Now I am still a beginner and still learning each time I play, I just thought that some of this might help if you want to have a go yourselves.
